Acne

Acne is one of the most common skin conditions and is caused by an overproduction of oil by the sebaceous glands which builds up within the pores and collects debris, such as dead cells and bacteria, which then develops into a blemish.

Whilst acne is not a serious health threat, it can cause worries and affect self-confidence for those suffering with it. Luckily, there are many treatments on offer to combat the effects of acne and acne scars. There are also a number of skincare options available to patients at the clinic.

Acne can affect any person at any age but most sufferers develop acne during puberty. Some people can develop this condition later in life, which is commonly known as late onset acne.

Early treatment can help to minimise the potential of long-term scarring.
